Another day down.

We had a pretty decent day today. The weekends tend to be slower at the hospital, so we were hoping there wouldn’t be a ton of doctors and nurses stopping by to check on Lila–and there weren’t. A new Cardiologist stopped by in the morning to just see how she was doing, and told us his group (EP) thought Lila was doing great. Awesome news. But that was about it for the day, doctor-wise.

We worked more on nursing again today, and Lila tried her best. She’s still tiring out too fast, but this could be due to all of the craziness going on, or the medications she’s on, as well as just simply being behind the curve and needing to catch up. I still think we made progress today, and that’s good enough for me.

Lila slept a lot today, most of the morning and afternoon. Hopefully she’s getting lots of rest to get her strength back and show those doctors who’s boss.

Lila’s Grandma Janet and Auntie Lyndsay came by in the afternoon to meet her, which was wonderful. Lila slept through their visit, but opened her eyes a couple of times to check them out.

That’s really about all that happened today. Lila is doing a better job at maintaining her temp (still on the low end of the normal range, but not needing the heat lamps), and the initial sepsis test results are all coming back negative. The final results will probably come back later tonight, and if all are negative, we can take Lila off of the antibiotics. Her renal ultrasound came back today also, and the hemmorhage is still on her right kidney, but it hasn’t grown since the last ultrasound. She will probably have one last ultrasound to check on this before she is discharged.

Then Jon and I came home…and found that my sister & Matt had gone WAY above and beyond for us. Neither of us know how we’ll ever pay them back for everything they’ve done for us since we’ve had Lila…if anyone has any ideas, please share! Today Cait and Matt (and Gracie! Roxie was psyched) came out here, and brought us chicken parm for dinner (totally cooked, so we just had to heat it up), as well as groceries, so we’d have essentials like toilet paper, water, and Keebler Grasshopper cookies. There were even individual salads in the fridge, already in bowls. Cait also did our laundry (Cait, you weren’t supposed to go find the laundry I left upstairs, haha), including our sheets, and cleaned the bathrooms! I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing it will be to crawl into bed tonight. We’ve really only been at the house to sleep during these past two weeks, so we’ve just been throwing things into piles, and letting it all gather dust, until we’re home for good, as a family. Coming home tonight, to a full fridge and clean laundry, just makes us feel less beaten, if that makes any sense.

Cait, Matt & Gracie, you guys rock. We will find a way someday to thank you for all of this, somehow.

Napping, again. Rest up, little girl, so you can come home soon.

Sweet dreams, little one, we love you.
